One Meter
2023

A project exploring the effects of coastal erosion in Skipsea, Yorkshire. Facing huge losses in land many people find themselves living on the literal edge. According to a local groundsman of La Mere caravan park, the local people have been told that erosion removes one meter a year, but in reality the groundsman explains that it is more like four. The project explores the theme of inevibility and how for some they accept the erosion or some do not. Those in their later years often buy the properties near the edge, for them the longevity of the property isn’t a concern, a sea view is all they need.
